Learning Methodology
The instructional materials found on this site have been designed according to principles generated by Cognitive Load Theory1. An Australian Research Council grant to Dr. Paul Chandler and Professor John Sweller, acknowledged world leaders in eLearning, in collaboration with Webster Publishing, provided some of the funding for the relevant research.

By using Cognitive Load Theory, the instructional materials used on this site have been designed to accord with the procedures humans use to learn and solve problems.

Webster Publishing’s participation in such an important research project indicates our desire to offer you, the user, the most up-to-date and professional methodology for learning IT skills.

1Cognitive Load Theory, initially developed at the School of Education, University of New South Wales, is now a major instructional theory with many centres around the globe contributing to its development. The theory uses knowledge of human learning, thinking and problem solving to simplify and optimise the design of instruction thus providing the most efficient way of online learning.
